How we spent our first day of school.....

Since I was a little sad that I wasn't part of the "First Day of School" Activities for the first time since Kindergarten - Reese came up with an excellent idea!

LET'S GO TO IHAWK!

Perfect idea sweet boy.....wouldn't want to share a Funny Face with anyone but you!!!

A little story....

This kid is a ham.....

He meets no stranger. He gets frustrated with kids his age and older who don't know how to shake hands and introduce themselves...He will bug you to death to talk to someone he sees...

Garrett and I often talk about how he's the Senior Class President type......

So this next part should come as no surprise....

We met a sweet little family at the pool this week. Mom, daughter Melanie (13), and daughter Alexandra (4). They were smitten with Reese and he enjoyed a friend to play with....

Alexandra was a match for Reese - she was bossy. She'd get splashed with water and say "Reese, go get my towel so I can dry off".

So, when they decided to leave, Reese got out of the water to hug Alexandra goodbye (and Melanie and mom too)...

He jumped back in the water, stands on the steps and yells out to Alexandra....

"BYE SWEETHEART!"

What the heck???!!!! Garrett and I do not use this term of endearment, so I don't know where he heard it...

Ay yay yai!!!! This kid!

"I'll take you to Mexigo"

Every Sunday, Garrett and Reese head to Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World for some "guy time".

I have never been invited and that's ok. It's fun for them and I get some time to myself.

This past Sunday I was invited to go and little did I know that when I left the house I was going to get to sail to 'Mexigo'.

So we climbed in a boat.

Reese needed to wash his hands firts.

He drove me to 'Mexigo' and it was the fastest trip I've ever taken!

Reese was such a great driver and we made it so quickly!

He can take me back to 'Mexigo' anytime he wants!

Hey, Hey, I Wanna Be A ROCKSTAR!

I spike Reese's hair.

Sometimes, he asks for Rockstar hair.

I have no idea what that means or where he got it from, but I spike it just the same.

Yesterday he asked for Rockstar hair. So, I went to Sally's and got him some green gel.

And yesterday, he had Rockstar hair!

How Much is That Doggy In the Window???

Dog Parks are something new to us.

Abilene is just now getting one so this is something we are learning about...

There is one right across the highway from us, so we take the dogs every morning around 7 am (remember, I have a 5-6am riser if he has a nap).

When I told Reese were were going to the Dog Park he had so many questions...

"Will Ry Ry like the big swing or the baby swing?"

"Does Harwee like the twisty swide?"

"Can I swide with the puppies?"

"Will they have friends at the park?"

Meet Ryder (chocolate mut) and Harley (mini weenie).

Ryder is lazy and fat and just walks in the shade the whole time.

Harley is borderline anorexic skinny and runs his tail off playing with Reese when we are there.

Did you notice Reese playing in the dog obstacles with Harley?

They have a blast!

He is a "Bolles" afterall....

We had our first outing to a bowling alley the weekend of July 4th...

The most fun part? Reese made up a little dance with no poking or prodding from us...

He would shimmy from side to side saying "Oh yeah, oh yeah!"
