So, where you been?

I'm baaaaack.

Well, sorta.

Life has been super, crazy buzy.

First off, our house sold!

Go ahead and say it with me "WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!"

We will be homeless in 3 weeks and I haven't packed a single item.

We put an offer in with some "extremely motivated" buyers in Houston.

Apparently, they weren't too motivated.

They countered us with full price and no closing costs.

We walked away. No time for silliness.

Other than that, we've been up to our new norm.

Or, our norm without Garrett around.
I think we will all 3 have to adjust to being back together again after 6 months apart.

But, I'll gladly adjust so my family can be whole and we don't have to do this whole thing long distance.

I don't ever wish for a job to separate us again.
So, back to our new norm...you know, Cotton Candy Ice Cream with Sprinkles kinda norm.

Today as we were driving home, I was looking at Reese in my rearview mirror and could tell he was really contemplating something.

He was deep in thought, and I knew something outside had caught his attention.

Finally, he starts waving like crazy.

And he breaks his silence with:

"Mom! Look ober der! Look ober der! It's PawPaw! It's my PawPaw. He peeked open dem cwouds and is waving at me. He say he wuv me and he loves it when I a happy boy. Aww PawPaw, I wuv you. I miss you PawPaw."

Sometimes, my heart breaks that my son will never know my dad in the flesh.

Scratch that, all the time my heart breaks for him, aches for that relationship.

But, in my heart of hearts, I know my dad can see Reese and Reese can see him.

Reese has said too many things that he was never told about my dad.

And to me, that is just proof that our God is living and loving and is forming that relationship with them.

He's a good God, ain't he???

Forever for us all...

Remember me telling you this was supposed to be my "forever" house?

Well, the ORIGINAL owners came to Open House yesterday.

They are in their early 80's.

Their kids looked it up on our realtors website so they could see the inside and they decided to come by yesterday.

They go to the movie every Friday afternoon.

Afterwards?

They drive by our (theirs and mine) 'forever' home and talk about one memory.

This house has felt like home from day 1.

Now I know why.

They paved the way for this house to be filled with love, laughter, friends, family, and Christ.

So honored to have spent the last 18 months here.

Sad I won't spend the next 18 years here...

What a week!

We are having fun with this whole picture count down.

It's become fun to see people's comments on Facebook about it.

Garrett does not have FB nor will he ever. Don't get him started on the nonsense that is FB.

We email him the pictures. He likes it like that. So do we.

We are headed to Houston this weekend. Friday - Monday.

Oh sweet goodness!

In a funk...

Day 2 - January 4, 2010

Day 2 was eventful.

Reese knows Garrett is gone. He is not liking it one little bit. Not one bit.

We are going to make this. And walk away from it better spouses and parents.

However, we don't have to like it. None of us.

And trust me, we don't.

I'll see you in six months....

Day 1 - January 3, 2010

Today starts the next chapter in our book.

We are moving to Houston, Texas (or the area there around).

Garrett left today so he could start his job in Special Waste. Doesn't it sound special?

Reese and I will stay until school is out the house sells.

We will do the weekend thing for about 6 months.

It's not ideal, we know that, but this is a great opportunity for us all.

I will be a stay at home mom.

(BIG GRIN!)

It's hard to leave a place you have called home, but we are going to do it and sit tight in God's grip.

We are excited. This is exciting. This is our new story!
